The process of transmutation is dealt with in chant 5 of Arut PerunJothi Agaval. This is one of the sublimest and most esoteric parts of Ramalinga's complete works. Though other sages have described about the changes that take place when the Divine Grace descends on the human frame, very few of them have dealt with the transmutation so exhaustively as Ramalinga has done.

1449-50
The skin has become tender and supple; the nervous current vibrates in pulsating mode throughout the nerves all over the body.
1451-52
All the bones have become soft and pliable; all the tendons and muscles have lost their grip becoming truly loosened.
1453-54
The entire blood has condensed inside the blood vessels; the semen has become solidified into a single small ball and confined in the chest.
1455-56
The petals of highest energy centre (in the top of head) have expanded in blossom; the Amrita wells up from the Original Source and flows through this center soaking up the entire body system.
1457-58
The luminous forehead perspires; the face glows with divine radiance; saturared with peace, the breath becomes calm and refreshing.
1459-60
Beaming smile arises from the inmost; hair stands on end; eyes shed copious tears of ecstasy, which flow down and drench the body.
1461-62
The trembling lips utter passionately the names of the Divine Lord, the subtle sound of Omkara hums into the ears making possible to enjoy the blissfulness with the sense of this Divine music.
1463-64
The whole body has become cool; chest heaves softly with the Divine impulse; spontaneously, hands rise up in salutation; being unable to bear this divine flood, legs become slight curved.
1465-66
The mind mellows sweetly; the intelligence becomes full of the Light of Divine Wisdom, being free of worthless thoughts and desires; the will takes delight in carring deeds out, in harmony with the mental faculties function.
1467-68
The feeling that there is nothing apart from the purified spirit in the universe goes on increasing; heart blossoms luxuriantly to contemplate the world with the divine Vision.
1469-70
The eyes of Wisdom look everywhere and find all forms as embodiments of the divine Bliss; egoism, born of senses, has faded out.
1471-72
All the 96 tatvas (essential principles of nature that veil the real condition of the soul) undergo spontaneous annihilation and are replaced by Satva, the Pure divine substance which alone prevails everywhere.
1473-74
All that are materialistic tendencies have vanished; only the longing for boundless Compassion swells up.
1475-76
O my unique Love, that has welled up in my heart gathers and flows in increasing intensity to enlighten all souls, making all evolve into a higher state of consciousness and physical existence.
1477-78
O the freshest ambrosial fare that graciously shows me the golden feet! O my love that has arisen in my heart!
1479-80
O my unique Love! By giving Yourself to me wholly, You transmute me through the Grace Light.
1481-82
O my Love! You has budded in me, blossomed in me and become fully blown in me.
1483-84
O my Love! You has shone in me, has mellowed in me and fully ripened in me.
1485-86
O my unique Love! You has bestowed me on the maximum perfection and, having made me a fit receptacle to receive your Grace, has filled up my soul.
1487-88
O my Love! You has dissolved all my sorrows and sufferings, transforming my physical body into an embodiment of Bliss.
1489-90
O my unique Love! You has blended with me into my heart so as to transform my physical body into a golden body.
1491-92
O my Love! Your splendour overflows and, passing beyond my will, pervades the whole universe and enlightens all the beings.
1493-94
O my unique Love! When You, as the cool ambrosial fare, have filled my entire being You have exalted Yourself even more.
1495-96
O Flame of Light! You has lighted my heart to remove the darkness of egoism and to radiate the compassionate Splendour.
1497-98
O Flame of Light! You has lighted my heart to enjoy the Bliss by eradicating all the negative tendencies due to the impure tatvas (the essential principles of nature).
1499-1500
O Flame of Light! You has lighted my heart to progressively transform the existence into an Eternal Life by tearing asunder the illusory concepts on the phenomenon of death.
1501-02
O Flame of Light! You has established yourself in the Mid-Heaven (Nadu Veli, the subliminal) so that your true Light illuminates absolutely all the levels of the realm where darkness and death reign (Idu Veli, the inconscient).
1503-04
O Flame of Light! You shines steadily in the centre of the illusory realm (Karu Veli, the obscure subconscious) so as to make your radiance eminent even in the entire embryonic level (Uru Veli, form-making region).
1505-06
O Flame! You has lighted the Light of Truth-Knowledge to illuminate the holy pinnacles of the Vedas in order to the Utter Truth may prevail eminently.
1507-08
O Flame! You radiates the compassionate Splendour on the pinnacles of the Agamas, by eliminating the turbulence of the mind.
1509-10
O Flame! You has provided me with all knowledge by expounding the original cause of the Creation of the entire universe, extolled by the venerated sages as the beginningless State of Grace.
